Why am I receiving ‘VAT return already accepted’ email?

In some instances, KashFlow may receive a duplication submission error response from HMRC upon submission of your VAT return. This may be due to one of the following reasons:

  1. If you have already submitted your VAT return through another MTD compatible software such as IRIS VAT Filer.
  2. Communication issue between KashFlow and HMRC.

In both scenarios, KashFlow will send you an email informing you that your VAT return has already been accepted and no further action should be required. KashFlow will also mark your VAT return as being submitted and update your accounting records to reflect this.

The contents of this email will include:

KashFlow received a response from HMRC which suggests this VAT return has already been submitted. Therefore, we have marked this VAT return as submitted in KashFlow. 

If you believe that this is a mistake we would urge you to get in touch with HMRC to get more information.
