“Email Invalid” error when emailing an invoice with a Pay Online button

Issue

Trying to send an invoice to a customer and the invoice has a Pay Online Button included on it (for use with payment processors such as Stripe), however, this is failing to go through due to the error message “email_invalid”.

Cause

This is usually caused by there being more than one email address entered in the email field on the customer record.

Solution

Our product team is currently looking at a way to improve this process, in the meantime, you would need to create an additional contact on the customer record and enter all contact email addresses separately.
