Offline, Desktop-speed Data Entry into Cloud Accounting Software

Online accounting software company, KashFlow, has today released a desktop application that enables offline data entry into its web-based accounting package. The new product, RapidFire, is aimed at accountants and bookkeepers that want the speed and familiarity of desktop software coupled with the power and flexibility of cloud software

The application is initially only available to accountants that use the company’s Orbit Accounts product for managing multiple clients. The accountant can set up multiple RapidFire Bookkeeper accounts and select which clients the bookkeeper can enter data into.

KashFlow Sales Director, Michelle Gorsuch commented “Bookkeepers are used to being able to enter data quickly using just the keyboard. This is an area where web-applications fail to deliver. Rather than trying to change the way our customers work we have instead developed a tool to help them work just as efficiently as they have in the past with on-premise software”

She added “We started with KashFlow for small businesses and introduced Orbit for the accountant. The introduction of RapidFire shows our commitment to bookkeepers too.”

The interface of the software and the keyboard shortcuts used borrow heavily from Sage 50 so users accustomed to the Sage range of products should be instantly familiar with RapidFire

To date, KashFlow have focussed purely on web-based software delivered using the “software-as-a-service” model. This is the first desktop application the company has released.

Both Orbit Accounts and RapidFire are available on a free trial basis.
