I am looking to find a developer who can help us link our existing customer management and job management system to Kashflow, plus at a later stage grow the applications to work with thigs like payroll. We are a start up company of one so have a limited budget but know we can output all data in XML or CSV from existing system so need some developement to automate the process as much as possible within our budget. We supply promotional merchandise via a hosted online system which manages our website and order process through to generating an invoice.

Additonally i would like to find a solution with another part of our business which will involve transfering data from an excel spreadsheet to the kashflow system and automating bank statment inputting.

Message me if you can help or point me in the right direction, many thanks

    Hi David,

What language is your existing customer management system written in? (PHP? .Net?)

It's written in PHP but I'm told that any integration would use a SOAP routine. However this would need development from our end and as I understand it nothing is planned - other than for it to integrate with Sage and Quickbooks or output mannually CSV / XML files. I'm still trying to find out specifically which versions of the accounts packages VISION will integrate with and will post if i find out more.

If you use PHP5, the default SOAP implementation works well. I wrote a few classes to wrap customers, invoices and such like to allow some PHP code to generate invoices from database reads. Should be a fairly simple job to walk an XML or CSV file and push data out into the API using the same technique.

If you have full details of the source system and data structures, I'd be happy to take a look

    Alex,

I had exactly that same issue with our own Accounting System and so embarked on exactly that development. My expertise is in Visual Basic so I have used VB 2008 and created a flexible application that can in theory interface with any back office system and feed the data directly (using the API) into Kashflow. It uses an interim step of a SQL 2005 Database thus allowing flexibility with inputs and outputs. I currently read files in CSV format (Customers, Sales, Suppliers & Purchases) and can update issued and paid invoices / purchases. It is still in development but it about to go live with a customer this week. Would that be of any interest ? - EMail me at angus.kerr at pcsgedinburgh.co.uk
