Hi! Don't get too hung up on 'PR' - rather look at providing regular new articles that really are high quality - this will stand you in good stead in the long term. There is no question that google is getting better and better at spotting the mass produced articles and the artificial links that are spammed into blogs.... They said that getting PR by building links is an old school. But for me, I think building links is still the most important SEO strategy but I still doubt PR(Google use a different Page Ranking with the tool you are using). Currently, im doing link building strategy for my Skylight Manufacturer site. I search sites through my listed keyword and try to connect with them by proposing to link exchange with me. This strategy is the most painful and time consuming part of seo'ing my site. Im not seeing results yet, Ill get back to you when it works for me. Well that is my strategy, do you guys have something else to suggest?
The answer HAS to be good quality articles - don't get too hung up on follow/no follow - rather spend time to get really GOOD articles that people actually WANT to read - these will survive ALL google 'panda attacks' etc.... This is the long term approach that you will never regret. Mik
I think good articles are applicable for blog/news sites only, how about websites that has nothing to publish but their product and their product updates?
The trick is to write useful information about your products so if you are selling widgets, you can write useful info on the advantages of your coloured widgets, how to maintain them, which widgets are best for which jobs etc etc etc. Can I ask what product you actually sell?

For increase the page rank i prefer the off page optimization. It is the best way for high traffic to ur website and get best rank in the search engine. Forum posting and article submission is the best method of the off page optimization.
