Hi I launched my site last Monday (a week ago) and I want to find cost effective ways to drive traffic to my website. Is google adwords the best way forward? This seem a bit of a minefield and from what I understand, it can be hit and miss. We specalise in business telephone numbers, 0845,0800 01 & 02 UK local area numbers, 0333 and **snip** International call service. What should we do next to gain traffic ? (besides from google adwords) We have time on our hands at the moment so if itsnt too technical "we could do it ourselves" thanks inadvance Linsley
hi google adwords can be expensive i would try fan pages on facebook twitter and others theres 100s and also google site map will help also have you submitted your site to search engines ? and also link exchange can be good
I have changed the title and moved this thread to the marketing forum instead. The link won't work as the OP isn't eligible to drop links in their posts (yet) so it has been removed.
There are many ways to drive targetted traffic to your website and if you perform a search on this forum, many topics are open for you to view. One way that does not work is to self promote and drop link on forums then disappear never to be seen again after one post. Tacky, outdated and ready to be swiped by mods ;-) Regards Daren
Hello, The best way to gain traffic for your website is from google, Organic no adwords, adwords can cost alot of money. Traffic is not what you want, you want related traffic that will convert to sales. My company also does this type of business and there is not really a place on the internet to sell these products so doing some SEO work on your website would help.
Start a blog and write Genuinely useful and insightful content about your area. Get a twitter account and, along with Tweeting useful information around your chosen are, Tweet each time you write a new entry. Make sure your blog entries focus on one topic at a time to make them more likely to appear when your potential customers type in the keywords you've identified... If you haven't identified your main keywords, that's the place to start. You can use Google's free keywords tool to get some ideas and you need to begin with the single keyphrase that best sums up your business and work outwards from there. Get a list of, say, a dozen keywords and keyphrases and base your content strategy around them (eg blog articles on each). It takes time to get organic traffic so the sooner you start the better. Adwords traffic needn't be that expensive, depending on how focused the Ad Groups are, the quality of the ads and the underlying web site.
Content is the key to the success of your website. Try to add a good knowledge article or newsitem. Second, find suitable social media spots, news release websites etc, to "advertise" your website content. You're not only creating extra links to this particular page, you'll receive some extra traffic as well. The more creative or attractive your content is, the more people will retweet your content, digg your story on digg.com or link manually.
Google Adwords is only expensive when there is no marketing budget or the website is so bad that there are no conversions. Organic SEO is another way, but once again the you get what you pay for. Has your website been optimised? Have you signed up with Google webmaster Tools, Verified with Google? I suppose one of the ways to drive traffic is communication which this OP seems to lack!! Ask and question and participate, do not ask a question then disappear!!
I did warn you guys, you can spot em a mile away. The main post was a plug with content that required removing...they stand out a mile mate.
Do not forget to submit your site to ALL the relevant search engines (yahoo, google, ask, bing, alexa). As already mentioned, a blog is a recognised way of gaining traffic. If you do start a blog, make sure you register it with Technorati, which is a directory of blogs on the web and helps boost traffic. In much the same way, make sure you submit your website to DMOZ. This is an open source human created website directory that is recognised by google and the other search engines. It is difficult to get listed though as they apparently have a backlog and it can take months to get on there. So submit your site ASAP! There are a few useful webmaster tools you can use to assess traffic, keywords and more, as already mentioned google webmaster tools is great. There are also FREE add on's that you can get for FireFox that give relevant stats for pages including keyword density and the like. I use SEOQuake, which is very helpful. (sorry, i can't post links yet, just google the terms and you'll find the sites)
Maybe we should be allowed to view the URL on these self promotion postings, then we can slate the website making sure that they would gain nothing from the posting, and fingers crossed keep people away from the website...Ruin their stupid marketing postings.... Then force the website owner on here and explain and try and save face. Getting rid of their 'SEO consultants' if they did use a third party supplier. Thereby making people realise SEO is not just 'mega blats' of blog postings...Almost like a regulator. I suppose there could be some legal issues.!!! But still I an idea to work on I think.
There a many ways to drive traffic, and get indexed by the search engines. Simple but effetive ways. Use Wordpress as your Website System/site - google loves it. Place plenty of good content on the site Make sure your content is relevent to your keywords. Make sure your keywords are relevent to your business Make sure your keywords and content relevancy is what your customers are looking for. Ah pleased I sorted that out, should only take about..... One thing I have learnt with all of this, for my various businesess is Content and Outsourcing are two keys to success. Richard **SNIP**
Well now I think you have got a proper idea of how to gain traffic i.e. by submissions. However, in order to work in your target market you need to work area and region wise first and expand your marketing space. Try to submit your product on different product feed submission sites and to sites.
Use Viral marketing. It is becoming more and more popular as it allows marketers to spread the word about their online home business without any costs or very little if any. This will increase your website exposure to many other visitors. Viral marketing may exist in the form of ebooks, text messages, video clips and many more.
You can go for organic results to get more traffic with the help of seo, you can participate in forums, try to comment in niche blogs and more from where you can get more and more clicks for your website. Side by side you can increase your traffic with the help of social media like facebook, twitter, google + etc.
if you want to increase traffic on your site.Trying to get more backlinks on your website this may help to increase the traffic. Mycityeats
Best way to join social communities i.e Facebook, my-space, twitter, orkut, Google+ stumble & delicious these sites really help to derive the traffic on the site.
Why not try to write useful and helpful articles which can help people and then submit them to article directories. This is a good way of building quality links to your site. Facebook is generally nofollow, so it might be a waste of time. Start a blog and put some good content on it, if it's interesting people will link back to it. Submit to directories, one way links are still better than linking back. You could also post ads on free ad sites like, gumtree.
You should optimize your website. i.e onsite optimization and off- site optimization. In this way you increase your traffic. Australian Business Consultants
