Still totally undecided with this i want to secure this domain name global on .com/.co.uk for 5-10 years godaddy are offering a good deal on the .com only so would you say its best to go with them on the .com and do the .co.uk through another company or shall i just do them both under one company
Makes no difference really, might want to look at this first though as Godaddy have a bit of a "rep"; http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=go...=t&client=firefox-a&rlz=1R1GGLL_en-GB___GB398 Note as well that you can only register UK domains for two years at a time. Non-UK domains can be registered for 1-10 years in one go...
Think i will not be going with godaddy then would you say 123reg are a good one to go with or can you put anybody forward thanks for your help so far
We just registered some domain names with Openmind, it was very quick and easy to set up. He was available to talk to over the phone for advice. We are also planning to use them for all future Web hostings.
Do GoDaddy automatically renew your domain when it expires (even if your credit/debit card details have expired)? I'm with 1and1 and I like the auto-renew feature of theirs (even though I know a lot of other people complain about it) as there's nothing worse than losing a domain name.
Auto-renew is pretty standard but I seriously doubt Godaddy will auto renew a domain they haven't received payment for
I have been using godaddy for 3 years. Yet to have any problems. Did experiment using daily.co.uk but they were terrible!
I'm more to agree with Openmind on this one. before i use any company online i trawl through google seeing if theres any dirt to be had on the said company. With GoDaddy.com i would put them on par with Paypal, yes some people may be happy with them but there are literally 1,000's who are not and thats definately a cause for concern. Always do your checks on a company before you use them
Is registering your domain your only interest, if so it simply becomes a price issue. On the other hand if you have other objectives like promotion the domain and getting traffic to it it might be worth investigating registrars and hosts that also provide promotional tools. I myself work with GVO who provide me with lots of free tools including: 1. unlimited autoresponders 2. unlimited domains 3. My own virtual conference room 4. Video recording, hosting and streaming 5. Unlimited Blogs 6. Cpanel I find these tool invaluable in the promotion of my domains. If you would like further information contact me
Used both Godaddy and 123reg. Sure Godaddy make you jump through hoops to register a domain but they do have lots of voucher codes. Only used for .com 123reg I use only for UK domains In theory you can use any company and most offer the same services, some have free privacy which can be pricey if you need it elsewhere. With a larger company you have the fact that they are less likely to disappear over night like some registrars have in the past. Help wise only ever had to contact 123reg once and were ok, never contacted godaddy. I'd agree with punched with regards to Paypal, as long as you do not have to contact them you'll be fine.
I've used Godaddy for all of my domains, both .com and .co.uk. Never had any problems with them. Just make sure you do a search on Google for 'Godaddy bonus code' or similar as you can get a good discount both for new domains and for renewals when the time comes.
I use 123 reg and have never had any probs, they also do great deals now and again. Prob worth calling their sales guys to see what they can offer you.
Never used justhost myself but I noticed when you try to navigate away from the page they offer you a 25% discount. This however is only on the first contract, the normal price resumes when you renew.
WOW I just looked at Network Solutions. They want $35 bucks for the privilege of registering your domain name. That is Expensive. There are so many other options where you get the same thing at such a better price. The first thing you need to concern yourself with a Domain Registrar is if they are ICANN certified.
