Join us for a Christmas Party! #KFXmas #UKBF

42

For a while I’ve wanted to get a bunch of KashFlow customers together for an informal meet-up.

That thought collided with another: Smaller business with just one or two staff don’t have much of a Christmas party. They’re no fun when there’s no one to pull a cracker with.

So we’ve teamed up with our good friends at UK Business Forums to throw a unique Christmas party for UKBF members, KashFlow customers and other small businesses.

Dominique, aka @MissKashFlow, sprang into action and has now got it all arranged.

Details

When: Wednesday 30th November, 7pm – 11pm (or 1am if enough people stick around)
Where: Mary Janes, St Johns House, 124 – 127 Minories, London EC3N 1NT
Cost: £15
Capacity: Up to 200 people
Booking Link: Book Here

We were hoping to do this as a free event  But there are two reasons we’re charging for it:

1) If it was free then lots of people would book but not actually come.

2) Booking a central London venue this close to Christmas isn’t cheap!

We’re still expecting to have to subsidise the cost of the event, but if we accidentally make a profit then it’ll be donated to Crisis.

What to Expect

You can expect a special KashFlow Kocktail on arrival and  Canapés (hopefully not Turkey-based) will also be served.

This isn’t a formal event. There will be no sales pitches, no forced speed networking no failed Apprentice candidates giving speeches or anything like that.

It’s just a chance to meet other like-minded small business owners and the KashFlow and UKBF teams for a few festive drinks.

Dominique takes her fun very seriously and there’s already talk about a giant Connect 4 game,  getting all the KashFlow staff dressed as elves so we’re easily identified, various awards (longest serving, most logins, most forums posts etc)

I’m not convinced – so use the comments below to talk her out of it, or me in to it.

Book Now

We’re expecting this event to fill up very quickly – so book now to avoid disappointment!

  1. The giant connect 4 and the zebras on the website remind me of a party we had a few years go, to celebrate our 2000th customer… The theme was “the big game night” and it combined oversized games with exotic meats. The connect 4 was extremely popular, and a good ice-breaker. The other games were popular too, but I think connect 4 was the busiest. We also had giant dominoes and tin can alley, but sadly, no elves.

Sadly I can’t get down to London for that day… however i’d love to see you hold a regional event in Manchester … even once a year where we get to meet you, ask questions and see how you use the program and ideas that you have how users should be using it.

  3. Sounds great and a wonderful idea. I’d love to come but I’m going to be in Manchester that day.

Count me in if you ever run more London based or (even better) regional events!

KFXmas? Is that like a KentuckyFriedChristmas? That’s sorted our credit crunch lunch on Christmas day.

  5. Ali

You have chosen the day of the public sector national strike. There will be no trains and no Tube, so no easy means of getting there. Ah well.

Might you rearrange it if there are rail strikes etc on that day? I can’t make that day as its my husband’s birthday and I was looking forward to a Christmas party especially when I thought it was free!

  9. I’m in Manchester so a bit far for a Turkey butty, but why not see how many of your users ar in the North West and if there are enough of us, lets have a local one and you can definately count me in!!!

    • There are certainly lots of people suggesting Manchester. Both here, on Twitter and on email.
We don’t have the time/resources to do it this year at such sort notice. But certainly an idea for next year.

Great idea but Im in Manchester and with it being mid-week it’d be an expensive do, I’d loved to have come, you can’t please everybody all the time, have a great time.

  12. Emma

    Come to Manchester

Hi Would love to come but being self employed I can’t guarantee that I will be in London on 30th November as I have to go where the work takes me…. What do you suggest?

  14. Yvonne Gorman

What a lovely idea! Shame it’s in London though. If you have any regional meetings in the future, please let me know.

Why’s everyone going to be in Manchester – What am I missing out on?

Also, I work in London, but, no trains, no London :-(

  16. Manchester would certainly be more doable for me too although still across the pennines but then I suspect Barnsley is not exactly quite the scene anyone would want (including me!).

Have a great time… Oh and definite vote for the elf costumes… :D

ah man – Duane, I’m in the middle of a charity cycle challenge in Vietnam then or I would have loved to have come along to meet the team.

    Merry Christmas anyway

I am South African resident for crying out loud. I earn rands that are one-tenth the value of the pound sterling. Do you still expect me to pitch at your Chritmas party. It would be a whole lot better if you give me a year free with Cashflow

Middle of the week makes it hard when you have to be back in the office the next morning, especially when you are coming from Manchester. lol. Oh well have a great time!

  20. Zuzzu68

Well, I’m from London (not too far from EC1), I’m free on Wednesday and I might just come! :D

Unfortunately I’m in Belfast and won’t be able to come! I do wish the best of luck to you with your event, and thank you for offering us this opportunity! :)

  23. Nigel

I think you should hold it in Brighton, much easier for me to get too LOL

  24. Nigel

A Friday night in Brighton would be even better ;)

  25. Chris

Great idea, shame I’m based in Devon, but sounds like you will all have a good time.

  26. David

Get to Manchester, its where its at!

  27. Julie McBride

Hi there I would love to come to the party but unfortunately I work as a psychotherapist and run a clinic on Wednesday evenings so would be unable to come but thanks for the invite and hope that you all have a great time. Many thanks and best regards, Julie McBride

  29. Richard Young

Just signed up for 2 places :)

Hi Duane, Great idea, not entirely original. Would love to join you but a friend is getting an honour that day and a thrash at the same time as yours. Sorry.

  31. What a great idea! I make up the total sum of my Christmas party so it will be great to meet up with people. I already have something booked on that day but if I can rearrange it I will definitely be there.

  32. Philip

I’m sure you mean 1900 GMT not PT (Pacific Time). I’m in London that day so if it is 1900, that’s great.

  33. Carol

We would have definitely come, but we are from Liverpool and its a bit far and expensive to travel, I am passionate about Kashflow and am always promoting it to my friends, so would have loved to spoke to like-minded people. Please come to Liverpool!!

  34. Jeff

Have just come here from a lagre orange notice on the front of what is supposed to be a serious accounts system dashboard. I was told once that spurious messages would never be put on there again. Still, with teh system running at a ridiculously slow speed today, good to see you are concentrating on what’s important.

perhaps a message of apology and an idea of when it is going to be running properly might have been a better use for dashboard messages?

  35. I would have liked to have come but it is the day of our ‘Platinum Practice’ business group meeting Christmas party. Hope it all goes well I will promote Kashflow to my colleagues on this group the Gocardless direct debit scheme in particular suits our regular payment plans advocated by this group Graham
